Branding of Berlin

Fashion as art

As identified in Nottingham.
Over the Winter period, there was a strong 'nature' theme window displays. The shops along Bridlesmith Gate played particularly to this, with stores like Jack Wills, Jigsaw and Ted Baker all using mannequins with animal heads.

Although this is interesting (and perhaps quirky) it is not innovative, as it has been seen in 2009, not only in the Prada lookbook, but in stores such as River Island and Topshop.

As seen (or not) in Nottingham.
What is obvious is that there is a lack of strong identity; although recently a huge budget has been invested in an attempt to re-brand the City (eg: colour coding areas of the City)

Features
Other than the obvious statues surrounding the centre, there is not a lot of additional creative architecture, which may be why the city lacks the futuristic or artistic dimensions that Berlin captures.

Below, an example of a Nottingham artistic feature:

Style Two - as recognised in Nottingham.
What was also recognised was the dominance of the 'student' in terms of influential style. The most likely reason being because of the two Universities, and the hugely prominent Art&Design courses.

Style One - as recognised in Nottingham.
Is what it says on the tin; a style seen especially in menswear, combining sportswear with an LA music scene influence.
